Optimizing Windows Startup

A quick and easy way to make Windows faster is to limit the programs that start with it.  There are many ways to prevent a particular program from starting up with windows.  Probably the most simple method is using MSCONFIG (the system configuration utility).

 

How to use The System Configuration Utility (msconfig). 

You can launch msconfig my going to the

  1. Start Menu > Click on Run
  2. Type: msconfig > Click OK. More...

Now we will run malwarebytes, update it first, then perform a Full scan.  And remove everything it finds.

We will now run spybot.  We need update it first.  Then click and perform the immunize function.  This utility is both proactive and reactive.  Next we will "search and destroy"
and remove every thing the spybot finds.  As you will see malwarebytes doesn't find everything.  But then again no antispyware program ever does. More...

Cannot Run Malwarebytes, Spybot, or SuperAntiSpyware

The is quite a frustrating problem.  Even if you get the computer into safe mode you cannot install or run (if already installed) any anti-spyware application.
The easiest way I found to remove this is to disable a hidden device driver in the device manager.

Here are the steps:
1.  Click Start > Run.  Then type:  devmgmt.msc More...
